Toms River, NJ - Seventh-seeded Ocean County College Women's Volleyball fell to #2 Raritan Valley CC on Wednesday evening (10/30), 3-1.
Perhaps owing to postseason adrenaline, both teams seemed to begin this match aggressive and miscommunicating, offering unforced errors while trying to settle into respective positions. The Vikings offered glimpses of some of their best play of the season against a team that boasted a clear height advantage, and that had stymied them earlier in the season, but were ultimately outmatched.
Set Scores: 20-25, 25-19, 16-25, 16-25
OCC sophomore Claudia Cosme contributed 17 digs, and sophomore Abby Szuba scored 13 points in this tough loss.
"Anna Malandro was amazing tonight," remarked OCC Women's Volleyball Head Coach Alexis Whitney. "Abby gave us good swings, and Claudia great defense."
The Vikings finish the regular/postseason with a record of 10-8.
