HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on how the night played out:
"Tale of two halves," Clark said. "First game. The nerves were high. We had to settle in a little bit. We regrouped at halftime and talked about the things that we do well and the things that make us successful. We came out in the second half and extended the lead to 12. Our defensive pressure was the key, which is what we focus on. Defensive stops lead to transition layups, and that's exactly what we want."
Clark on hitting the road Wednesday:
"There's a lot of firsts right off the bat," Clark said. "First home game and then we go right to our first road game. We are playing a team that has already played. We can't overlook it. Tomorrow, we get back to work. We had 20 turnovers, which is unacceptable. It's the little things and it's a process."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will battle Southeast Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
