Softball: Raiders Battle it Out Over the Weekend
The Central Community College Softball team played two games against Cloud County Community College on Friday and two games against Southeast Community College on Sunday. A recap of each game is below:


Friday, Feb. 28

Game 1: CCC 11  Cloud County Community College 2

A six-run third inning helped propel the Raiders to an 11-3 win over the T-Birds. Hannah Dahlke going two for three and Jordyn Trotta went three for three with three RBIs and one home run.

Braelyn Sindelar began the game for the Raiders, allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three.

Game 2: Cloud County Community College 13  CCC 1

Pitcher Shayla Sullivan opened the game and gave up five hits and nine runs (five earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking six.

The only multi-hit game belonged to Braelyn Sindelar, who went two-for-three and a logged a solo home run.

 

Sunday, March 2

Game 1: Southeast Community College 19  CCC 8

The Raiders started hot with a 4-1 lead after the first inning. The Bobcats bounce right back in the second, taking the lead back 5-4. From there, it was Southeast controlling throughout thanks to 20 team hits. CCC's bats were also hot, finishing with 15 hits.

Game 2: Southeast Community College 14  CCC 1

Southeast's momentum continued in the second game as the Bobcats posted a grand slam in the first inning. By the end of the second, the Bobcats were up 8-1 and they never let off the gass. The Raiders top batter was Haley Johnson, going two for two.

"This weekend didn't go our way defensively and we know we need to be tougher on that side of the ball," said CCC head coach Caitlin Simon. "When a couple games like this happen the only thing we can focus on is learning from it and moving on to the next. We are looking forward to that opportunity this week."
