Vikings Prove too Mighty for Chargers

Tuesday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla Baseball team hosted MCCAA foe Glen Oaks at the MUAC fields in a single, 8-inning contest. Despite jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning, the Chargers were unable to maintain that, eventually falling to the Vikings, 9-1.

Freshman Logan Clark pieced together a pair of hits and drove in the lone run when Sophomore Traevyn Shoaf came around to score. Sophomore John Morgan and Freshman Wes McNeff each doubled, while Shoaf added a stolen base as well. Freshman Evan Lanphier (0-4) pitched 5 2/3 innings, and while he allowed 5 runs, only 1 was earned. The 6-4 righty also struck out 5 batters in his starting appearance.

The Chargers return to action this Thursday, when they head to Battle Creek, Michigan, to take on the Kellogg Community College Bruins. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The team will then return home for a Saturday matchup, weather pending, versus Lansing Community College at 1:00 p.m. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
