
On their Sophomore Day, the Cyclones took a decisive 16-2 victory from the visiting Kennedy-King College Statesmen.
Although the Statesmen scored first, once the Cyclones came up to bat they jumped ahead 7-1 thanks to singles from Ryder Johnson (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Nicholas Haran (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBIs), Jayden Armstrong (3-for-4, 2B, RBI), Christian Rosales (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBIs) and a double from Timothy O'Connell (2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBIs). Their domination continued at the plate throughout the game as they outscored Kennedy-King 16-to-4. Alejandro Munoz also had a big hitting game, going 3-for-4 with a triple and 3 RBIs.
Five Cyclones combined to shut down the Statesmen at the plate, including Xavier Aguilar (two strikeouts, one walk), Troy Vosburgh (two strikeouts, one walk), Joshua Keller (five strikeouts, two walks, no hits), Bryan Collier (two strikeouts, no walks) and Zachary Koschnitzki (one strikeout, no hits, no walks).
Before the start of the game, the Cyclones recognized their eight sophomores: Ryder Johnson, Christian Rosales, Jayden Armstrong, Seth McWilliams, Alejandro Munoz, Troy Vosburgh, Xavier Aguilar and Nicholas Haran.
