
Saints Fall at #7 Gulf Coast
Santa Fe made a return trip to Gulf Coast State College on Saturday afternoon.

Santa Fe (7-9, 3-3) traveled to the panhandle on Saturday afternoon, falling 89-65. The seventh-ranked team in the country, Gulf Coast State College (14-1), jumped to a first-quarter lead and did not stop there. The Commodores outscored Santa Fe 27-17 in the second quarter, taking a 15-point lead into the half. Another big quarter for Gulf Coast pushed them to a 27-point lead going into the fourth quarter. The Saints did not roll over, as they outscored their opponent by three and fell in the game.
Santa Fe shot just 31% from the field and 22% from beyond the three-point line, while Gulf Coast shot 48% from the field.
The Saints were led by freshman forward, Riana Callihan with 11 points. Madyson Burney was the only other Saint player in double figures with 10 points. Micah Hannah pulled in nine rebounds to lead SF on the glass.
Santa Fe is back in action Wednesday afternoon at Daytona State, as conference play kicks back up.
