Highlanders ground Nighthawks
The McLennan Highlanders dominated National Park on the final day of the WTC Classic, downing the Nighthawks 85-61 in Snyder.
The Highlanders opened the game on a 10-0 run composed of four points each from Amare Banks and Joseph Mayberry, and a bucket from Evan Chatman. A Shamir Caruthers 3-pointer out the Nighthawks on the board and cut the lead to seven. McLennan quickly pushed the lead back to double digits and it was all Highlanders from there as they extended the lead to 24 by halftime, 46-22. McLennan rolled through the second half to the lopsided victory.
Amare Banks led the Highlanders with 15 points, and Rontavious Blackshear added 13. Evan Chatman and Max Blank scored 12 and 15, respectively.
