(March 10, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - After a loss on Friday to Carl Albert, the Bucks had to wait out the weekend weather to take on the Vikings at Union Bank Field. Today's game was the first of three at home this week. The Bucks will play at 1 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday at home.
Logan Steele (Magnolia, TX) got the start on the bump for the Bucks and would last 6.0 innings, giving up 1 hit and 0 runs. The right hander struck out 4 and walked 3 on the day.
With Steele dealing, the Bucks wanted to give him run support early and scratched across a run in the bottom of the first inning. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) hit a 2-out RBI to right field to score lead off hitter Cody Hayes (Mildred, TX). The game would stay 1-0 through 4 innings, and then, the Bucks offense showed up in the bottom of the fifth.
Once again, Miller would drive in a run with 2 outs on a RBI double off the left centerfield wall. Next at-bat, Jack Bilski (La Porte, TX) hit a RBI single to right field to extend the lead to 3-0.
Steele's day ended after the sixth inning, and Carl Albert plated their first run of the game in the top of the seventh, but the Bucks would answer with a pair of runs. Ian Smith (Bismarck, AR) scored on a throwing error with 1 out. Then, a hit-by-pitch and single loaded the bases for Yancey Steady (Baton Rouge, LA). He would hit a sacrifice fly to right centerfield to make it 5-1.
Carl Albert would score a pair of runs in the top of the eighth, but the Bucks brought Corbin Miller (Sprio, OK) out of the bullpen in the save situation. He would get the Bucks out of the inning, and in the ninth, he got a double play ball to end the game. Bucks win 5-3. Diego Archila (Baton Rouge, LA) started the inning with a back-hand play at second base to record the Bucks first out of the ninth.
Logan Steele (4-0) kept his record perfect on the year. Corbin Miller (2) recorded his second save of the year in 1.2 innings of work.
The men play again on Tuesday at Union Bank Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm against SAU Tech.
