RAIDERS END JANUARY WITH WIN AT WALTERS STATE
Roane State Men's Basketball is now 12-7 overall following a win against conference rival Walters State on January 29.
The Raiders traveled to Morristown to take on the Senators, who had only lost three games in conference play heading into the match.
The first half was a highly competitive performance with several lead changes and a tie midway through the period. Ultimately, a buzzer beating three point shot sent the Raiders up, 35-32.
In the second half, Roane State mounted a double digit lead over Walters State. The Raiders held onto that advantage and clinched the win with a final score of 80-71. RSCC is now ranked fifth in conference standings.
Leading scorers for Roane State included Marcus Black with 29, Walter Campbell with 15, and Jacob Edwards with 12. Jahiem Berry also put 11 points on the board for the Raiders.
Up next, Roane State will be back at home as they take on Southwest Tennessee on Saturday, February 1, at 4 p.m. ET. The game will be played in the gymnasium at the Roane County Campus.
