Scotching Hot Shooting Guides Jayhawks to Big Win Over Onondaga

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball was in need of a confidence boost heading into the Thanksgiving break, and they found it through hot shooting in a 112-50 win over Onondaga Community College.

JCC opened up a quick 10-point lead behind the slick scoring of freshman Marcus Wynter, whose fastbreak layup made it 19-9. Wynter led all scorers with 22.

Halfway through the half, Jamestown saw its edge swell to 30-15 behind another transition layup, this one by Federico Foddai, who dropped 21 points on the day.

Onondaga would cut the deficit down to nine at the 3:07 mark, with JCC up 36-27 there, but the Jayhawks answered with another run.

Foddai buried a pair of threes, then Tamir Barrant picked the pocket of a Blazer and finished with a bucket to make it 45-27 JCC. Barrant had 14 on the afternoon.

Jamestown took a 45-29 advantage to the break.

In the second, it was more of the same for JCC; Travis Castro opened the second stanza with back-to-back threes. He also finished the day with 21 points.

In all, Jamestown had five players reach double- digits, with Joey Valerio joining the fun with ten points.

As a team, JCC shot 14-31 for three, 45.2% in the game, which propelled the 62-point win.

JCC is now 2-8 on the year with the win.

They're back on the home court on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 7:30 when Lakeland Community College visits Jamestown.
