Yetis Triumph in Home Opener Against Guilford Technical Community College
Shelby, NC--The Cleveland Community College Yetis dominated their season home opener, overcoming Guilford Technical Community College with a decisive 83-52 victory. The game, held on Cleveland's home court, saw the Yetis energized by enthusiastic support from the fans and we'd like to give a special thanks for the Shelby Middle School cheerleaders.
The Yetis started strong, establishing a 16-5 lead in the first quarter. They built on this momentum in the second quarter with a 27-point burst, ending the half with a solid 43-17 advantage. By the third quarter, Cleveland pushed further ahead, scoring 24 points to Guilford's 12. Though Guilford made a late attempt to close the gap in the fourth, scoring 23 points, Cleveland held firm, securing the win.
