Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College men's basketball team rallied after being tied going into halftime to top Delaware County Community College, 81-73 at the DuPont Fieldhouse Saturday in SCC's season opener. Sophomore guard Joshua Ramos led four Mighty Oaks in double figures with 18 points.
Ramos was 6 for 9 from beyond the arc while Ahmodrion Jones chipped in 14 points going 6 for 9 from the field for Salem. Niame Scott and Xavier Brewington rounded out the Mighty Oaks scoring in double figures. Brewington scored 12 points to go along with 4 assists, which tied for a team high while Scott added 10 points with a team leading 3 blocks. On the boards the Salem had a strong day lead by two Mighty Oaks in double figures in rebounds. Tyrese Fortune led the way with 12 boards with Rodney Shelton right behind him with 11.
The Mighty Oaks return to the court Tuesday November 12 when they will host Bucks County Community College. Tip-off is slated for 7:00PM at the DuPont Fieldhouse.
