
Westmoreland Wins in OT Against Beaver
Saturday afternoon, Westmoreland County Community College's men's basketball team played host to the Community College of Beaver County in a NJCAA Region 20 matchup. After a back and forth first half which saw Beaver taking a 42-41 lead into the half. The second half saw Beaver take a 13 point lead before the Wolfpack stormed back to tie the game at 85-85 at the end of regulation. During the overtime period Westmoreland slowly opened a lead, eventually winning 101-95. This was Westmoreland's first Region 20 DII win since moving to Division II last year.
Freshman Lorenzo Gardner once again led the way for the Wolfpack scoring 21 points. He a clutch 3 pointer and foul shots to get Westmoreland to get them to overtime. Lorenzo also had 7 steals as well. Freshman Colin Masten added in 18 points while Brailyn Ryan and Alex Lowry scored 15 each, career highs for both players. Lowry added in 13 rebounds to earn his first double-double of the season. Sophomore Tariq Martin added in 12 points as well.
Next up for Westmoreland will be hosting CCAC on Monday night. Westmoreland had already played CCAC back on November 8th, loosing 94-84.
