By the end of the fourth inning, the Pioneers led 3-0. They extended their lead to 4-0 with another run in the sixth inning.
The Bears finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the ninth inning when Brayden Bertucci, batting as a pinch-hitter, recorded a single to left field. He advanced to second on a passed ball and moved to third on a pop fly hit by Shawn Driggers. Bertucci then scored on another passed ball.
