
Wabash Valley baseball finally got to play ball this weekend after the Future Stars Series that was set for January 21st at Globe Life Field was cancelled. The Warriors made the long road trip to Panama City Beach, FL on Thursday, January 30th for the Panama City Beach JUCO Classic. The Warriors knocked off host Gulf Coast State College yesterday, January 31st, by a final of 3-1.
Wabash jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning thanks to a two run homerun from Connor Christenson. Gulf Coast made it a 2-1 ball game in the bottom of the 5th inning.
The Warriors added one insurance run off of an RBI single from Ean Czech in the top of the 7th. Gulf Coast couldn't rally in the home half of the inning, making it a 3-1 final in seven innings.
Connor Christenson led the Warriors with two hits. Also tallying hits in the game were Jack Scheri, Simon Gaines, Aidyn Coffey, and Ean Czech. Both Scheri and Gaines had doubles.
Getting the win for the Warriors on the mound was Trey Reinburg. Stone Silver was tabbed with the save. Also pitching for the Warriors was Trevor Fishman.
The win was also Coach Biddle's 100th career win as the head coach at Wabash Valley.
