Highlanders smother Strength 'N Motion
The McLennan Highlanders move to 5-1 on the season with a 108-59. blowout victory over Strength ' N Motion at the Joe White Classic in Hillsboro.
It was all McLennan from the opening tip as the Highlanders opened on a 6-0 run and held Strength 'N Motion to just one free throw in the first four minutes of play to build a 10-point lead at 11-1. The Highlanders led 14-5 with 14:54 to play in the first half and broke the game open with a 10-0 run over the next two minutes of play. McLennan rolled down the stretch, pushing the lead to 40 at intermission, 60-20.
McLennan was able to cruise through the second half. Strength 'N Motion surged early in the half with strong shooting from Joseph Wilson but it wasn't enough to overcome the huge Highlander lead.
Evan Chatman led the Highlanders with 18 points and Rontavious Blackshear added 16.
McLennan returns to action Tuesday, hosting Dallas North Lake at 7:30 p.m.
