Women's Basketball Fall To Union College

Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College Mighty Oaks women's basketball team fell to the nationally ranked Union College, 95-54.  Union is currently ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division 2 national polls and unbeaten on the season.  With the loss the Mighty Oaks move to 10-9 on the season.

The Mighty Oaks played a solid first half only trailing by 12 as halftime.  Sophomore guard Maggie St.Clair led the Mighty Oaks with 18 points on the night shooting 6 for 14 from the field.  Nyaijah Jackson had a solid all-around night for Salem scoring 9 points to go along with 4 assists, 1 steal and 7 rebounds.  Caroline Zullo led the Mighty Oaks in rebounds with 8.

Salem will continue their play off push when they travel to Region 19 opponent Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday February 1. Tip off with the Lions is slated for 12:00PM on the campus of RVCC.
