
Northeastern Baseball Drop Game Two To Western Nebraska Community College
Northeastern Baseball drops back-to-back games against Western Nebraska Community College, falling to the Cougars 7-3 on Friday. Max Valerio was named the DDC Player of the Game. Valerio went 2-4 at the plate, hitting one home run, scoring one run and driving in two runs in the contest.
The Plainsmen opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning after Valerio singled, scoring one run. Northeastern scored one run in the top of the seventh inning on a solo home run to center field by Valerio. Gavin Lamont started on the hill for the Plainsmen and ended up taking the loss. Lamont went 5.2 innings, giving up 7 earned runs on 10 hits, walked two batters and struck out 6 batters. Jared Tameling threw .1 innings of relief. Valerio and Hudson Hoy each collected two hits for the Plainsmen.
