NO. 3 WARRIORS EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO 10

Ottumwa, IA – No. 3 Indian Hills Men's Basketball extended its winning streak to 10 games with an 85-54 win over visiting Sauk Valley Community College (IL) Thursday night at the Hellyer Center. The Warriors improve to 21-4 overall on the year.

Indian Hills used a 21-point halftime advantage to pull past the Skyhawks to sweep the regular season series. During the Warriors' 10-game winning streak, Indian Hills has outscored its opponents by an average of 22.6 points per contest, including five wins by at least 20 points.

The Warriors were led by a game-high 24 points from Quinton Perkins II (Dallas, TX/Tarleton State) who came off the bench to shoot an efficient 9-12 from the floor, including 5-6 from three-point range. Perkins tallied 16 first-half points to pace the offense. Perkins added five rebounds and a pair of assists in the victory.

Sophomore Joao Das Chagas (Niquelândia, Brazil/Arizona Western), this week's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Basketball Player of the Week, tallied his third consecutive double-double, totaling 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Freshman Ater Manyuon (Austin, MN/We Are United Prep) chipped in 10 points for the Warriors.

As a team, the Warrior defense held Sauk Valley to just 3.8 percent (1-26) shooting from three-point range on the night while the offense knocked down 10 triples, the team's 10th contest this year with double-digit three-point shots made.

The Warriors trailed 2-0 in the early minutes of the first half before sophomore Kayden Nation (Peoria, IL/Western Nebraska) buried a three-point shot to get on the board. The Warriors never looked back. Perkins connected on his first four three-point shots in the first half to spark the offense to a 51-20 halftime advantage.

The Indian Hills defense limited the Skyhawks to just 24 second half points, keeping Sauk Valley in check by forcing 10 turnovers over the final 20 minutes of play. Indian Hills extended the lead to 30 late in the second half as the Warriors improved to 7-1 all-time vs. the Skyhawks.
