ROCHESTER, NY - In their first annual whiteout game the #16 Monroe Community College Tribunes bested conference rival #13 SUNY Niagara with a narrow 66-64 victory
The game began with a strong first half from Monroe Community College, which took a significant lead into halftime, 35-23. Stellar play from the likes of Alan Garcia, who notched 15 points, and Jaheem Tyson, who contributed 15 points and a dominant 14 rebounds, set the stage for their team's success. Their compact offensive effort was complemented by visible teamwork, epitomized through their 19 assists total.
SUNY Niagara struggled early on, shooting a dismal 29.8% from the field in the first half.
The second half saw a significant turnaround for SUNY Niagara, notably spearheaded by Chioke Marshall, who scored 16 points on 5-for-17 shooting. Their offensive output surged as they clawed back into contention, outscoring Monroe 41-31 in the final period. It became a thrilling contest as SUNY Niagara chipped away at Monroe's lead.
