Brookdale Paws Off The Tompkins Cortland Panthers In Opening Day Sweep
Lincroft, NJ - The February weather cooperated for the Jersey Blues to open up their baseball season with a nice sweep over the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers, 14-1 and 13-3 in 10 innings.

Lincroft, NJ - The February weather cooperated for the Jersey Blues to open up their baseball season with a nice sweep over the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers, 14-1, 13-3 in 10 innings.
Freshman left fielder, Anthony Pizzuti, dominated the RBI's in game-one with five after blasting a home run and a double from his 3-for-4 at bats. Sophomore third baseman, Junior Nunez, went 2-for-2 for three RBI's with two stolen bases, and sophomore second baseman, Anthony Martino, batted 2-for-3 for two RBI's. Freshman shortstop, Justin Lopez, supported the Blues with two sac flies for two RBI's.
In game-two, sophomore center fielder, Ryan Schmidt, batted 1-for-3 with a double for three big RBI's while sophomore third baseman, Malik Little, added two RBI's off of his 2-for-3 at bats. The Two Anthony's performed superbly once again as Martino pounded out two doubles in his 2-for-3 at bats for two RBI's and two stolen bases, and Pizzuti grabbed two RBI's as well including a double off of his 3-for-3 trips to the plate.
Brookdale is 2-0 and will be home for their next game against the Rockland Community College Hawks on Wednesday, February 26th, beginning at 3:00pm.
