
Men's Basketball Wins 4th Straight, Resume DAC Play Saturday
DALLAS – Augustine Chibuko scored 21 points, and Tracy White had 17 off the bench as Dallas College Mountain View men's basketball beat Nelson University's Junior Varsity, 105-76, Tuesday in the Lions' Den.
It was the Lions' fourth straight win, dating back to before the holiday hiatus.
Mountain View (9-11) moved two games within the .500 mark, while improving to 7-4 at home this season. The Lions resume Dallas Athletic Conference play Saturday against Dallas College Eastfield. It is the start of the second of three rounds of league play.
Chibuko shot 10 of 11 from the field, and pulled down seven rebounds, while blocking four shots in Tuesday's win. White was 6 of 9 from the floor, hitting 3 of 5 triples, and had four rebounds. Ashton Price scored 14 points, and had four assists, while shooting 5 of 8. Deunta' Young added 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting. Chase Thomas scored nine points.
Mountain View was 43 of 72 from the floor, and 9 of 23 from three-point range. The Lions sank 10 of 12 free throws.
The Lions outscored Nelson, 57-31, in the first half.
It was Mountain View's second win in as many days after beating Concordia University JV, 89-88, Monday. Price scored 27 points, and grabbed six boards. Chibuko had 21 points in that game as well, and pulled down nine rebounds, and blocked four shots. Noel Duplechain had 19 points on 8 of 11 shooting.
