Women’s Soccer Season Comes to an End in Wichita

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team fell to undefeated No.4 Arizona Western College, 2-0 Nov. 19 in the second pool play game at the NJCAA DI Women's Soccer Tournament in Wichita, Kan. Both teams entered the match 1-0 in Pool D, with the winner advancing to the semifinal match.   

The Blue Devils were only able to tally one shot per half and just one shot on goal coming from Sierra Montez. KCKCC goalkeeper, Maria Heuman, was able to save nine of the 11 shots on target that the Lady Matadors shot. The two goals took place in the 53rd minute and 85th minute.

Out of the 19 Arizona Western Lady Commodore games in the 2024 season, they had 14 shutouts and only let up six goals all season.  The Blue Devil Women's soccer team had a historic season finishing with an overall record of 14-2-6, recording an undefeated regular season and were crowned co-champions of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
