Women’s Basketball Notches an 61-54 GSAC Win Over Middlesex

Carneys Point, NJ. – The Salem Community College Mighty Oaks women's basketball team rallied from 19 down in the third quarter to keep their play-off push going with a 61-54 win over Region 19 opponent Middlesex College.  With the win the Mighty Oaks move to 10-8 on the season.

The Mighty Oaks were led by three players scoring in double figures.  Leading Salem was Niaijah Jackson with 18 points shooting 5 for 12 from the field while going 8 for 12 from the foul line.  Kathryn Laurence added 15 for SCC shooting 5-13 on the day.  Jakayla Jenkins rounded out the Mighty Oaks in double figures with 12 points. Caroline Zullo had a strong performance under the boards pulling down a team high 12 rebounds for the Mighty Oaks.

Salem will continue their play off push when they will host nationally ranked Union College Tuesday January 27.  Tip off is slated for 5:00PM at the DuPont Fieldhouse on the campus of SCC.
