
Snyder, TX - Western Texas volleyball (11-20, 3-11 WJCAC) celebrated their sophomores for the final regular season game against the Clarendon Bulldogs, (21-13, 5-9 WJCAC) on Saturday, (25-27, 20-25, 22-25), 0-3.
The Western Texas College Gym was filled with family, friends and other loved ones for the Lady Westerners volleyball Sophomore Day. Head Coach Melissa Avila and Assistant Coach Sarah Campoli celebrated their five sophomores that will continue their academic and athletic career at the four-year level.
The first set had a thrilling conclusion as Western Texas was down by two points and faced a set one loss, 22-24. However, the team rallied and tied it as 24 points apiece. The Lady Westerners took the lead and was a point away for the comeback victory, 25-24. The Bulldogs fought back and regained the edge and won the first set, 25-27. Clarendon took the next two sets to win the match, 20-25 and 22-25.
Western Texas College closed out their 2024 season with 11 overall wins and three conference victories. Westerners volleyball now says farewell to five of their student-athlete sophomores that will continue their academic and athletic careers at the four year level:
