
Northeastern Baseball Ends Up On The Wrong End Of Another Walk Off By Lamar Community College
Northeastern Baseball winds up on the unlucky end of a walk off for the second straight game to Lamar Community College, as they fall in the second game of the Saturday double header 11-10. Cameron Ochoa was named the DDC Player of the Game. Ochoa started the game for Northeastern and threw 4.1 innings, giving up one earned run on four hits, walking one and striking out 5 batters.
Northeastern jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Zach McVay singled, scoring one run and Max Valerio drew a walk, scoring one run. Lamar flipped the game on it's head in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring 8 runs on 6 hits to take the lead 9-4. The Plainsmen jumped back out to the lead in the top of the eighth inning after Michael Clark doubled down the right field line, Aniel Del Orbe singled to center field, Yusei Uzawa walked and Brayden Stufft grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run to make the lead 10-9.
Evan Gail threw one inning of relief, giving up 5 runs (three earned) on three hits, walking one and striking out one. Matt Yarish threw .1 innings, giving up three unearned runs on two hits and struck out one batter. CJ Gonzales threw .2 innings, giving up one hit, walked two batters and struck out one. Sebastian Miranda ended up taking the loss for the Plainsmen, throwing 1.1 innings, giving up two unearned runs on one hit and walked one batter. Korey Koehler threw .1 inning giving up one hit and striking out one batter.
Stufft led the team with three runs batted in. Valerio went 2-3 ath the plate to lead Northeastern in hits. Harrison Good led the Plainsmen with three walks in the contest.
