Ocelots Conclude Spring Trip 7-3

MYRTLE BEACH, SC- The Ocelots finished off their 10 game stretch in South Carolina with games against Kaskaskia College and Southern Maine Community College.

Game 1 (Kaskaskia) - Schoolcraft outsted Kaskaskia 4-3 on Friday to kick off their last day in South Carolina.

Kaskaskia got on the board in the third inning after Mckensie Jackson tripled, scoring one run. Kaitlyn Solberg singled down the right field line, which helped the Ocelots tie the game at one in the top of the fourth. In the top of the seventh, Schoolcraft broke up the tie when Savina Olada singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Sydney Scoggins followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Solberg started in the circle for Schoolcraft. The starter surrendered seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. 

Scoggins drove the middle of the lineup, leading Schoolcraft with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-4 on the day.

Game 2 (Southern Maine) - The Ocelots had trouble keeping up with Southern Maine in an 11-3 loss on Friday.

Southern Maine opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Southern Maine first got on the board when DeLanie Perry singled, scoring one run. Southern Maine extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Olivia Hill and Perry.

Schoolcraft first got on the board in the fourth inning when Raina Bouns grounded out, brining home Scoggins who singled earlier in the inning. An inning later, Savina Olada would reach on a single which brought Olivia Mikowski across the plate. Schoolcraft's third run would come off of the bat of Hailey McCleary, bringing in Kaelyn Rozycki

Olada, Scoggins, Rozycki, and McCleary each collected one hit for Schoolcraft.
