JCC Opens Season with Loss at Nationally Ranked Herkimer

HERKIMER, NY - Jamestown Community College's (JCC) men's basketball team opened the season with a tough test at #2 ranked Herkimer Community College, and the Jayhawks suffered a setback 89-56.

Jamestown fought hard early, trailing by 11 at the helf, but the General blew the game open in the second, outscoring JCC 50-28 for the 33-point win.

JCC had three players hit double-digits, led by Tamir Barrant's 13; Federico Foddai added 11; and Aaron Stewart scored ten.

The Jayhawks issue in this game was ball control. JCC finished with 20 turnovers to just nine assists.

The loss knocks puts Jamestown at 0-1 on the year.

They look to bounce back on Tuesday when JCC visits Lakeland Community College at 7:30.
