LEVELLAND — The South Plains College men's basketball team closed out the front half of its season Saturday with a 95-50 victory over Hill College at the Texan Dome. 

The Texans improve to 10-4 with the win and will be back on the floor when they open conference play on Jan. 6 and play host to New Mexico Junior College at 7:30 p.m. at the Dome. 

Tavaj Cope led all scorers with 27 points, knocking down 11 of 15 shots from the field for South Plains. IJ Ezuma went off for 22 points on nine of 10 shooting while Jalen Ricks finished with 13 points and four boards.
