"Disappointed. Just flat out disappointed with our effort." head coach Cody Hastings said very briefly after the game.
This game wasn't much a contest from the beginning as the Tigers came out swinging early and often from opening tip-off. Once the Tigers took the lead on an Landon Jeffries lay up, they would never find themselves trailing the Greyhounds. Northeast Mississippi would take an 58-24 at the half. ASU Mid-South would keep the game much closer in the 2nd half, but the damage had already been done as the Tigers would take a 99-49 win.
Northeast Mississippi was led by Tyler Byrd's 21 points. Stephon Thomas with 16, Landon Jeffries with 13, and Josh Williams with 10.
Jermaine Christopher led ASU Mid-South with 15 points. Jaxson Yancy pitched in 11 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
With the loss, ASU Mid-South's record moves to 7-9. The Greyhounds return from Christmas break with their first action on Monday, January 6th at SAU Tech. Tip-off is set for 7:30.
