Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball earned their 2nd consecutive win to start their 2024 season with an impressive 81-73 home opening result on Tuesday (11/12).
Ocean freshman guard Jamari Smith continued his strong play this season, scoring 14 points and pulling down 6 rebounds tonight, while sophomores Dekari Harrell and Dorian Alston each scored 12 points (Alston with 10 rebounds as well) in a matchup that saw the Vikings assume control early in the 1st half, and hold onto it for the duration.
"Really proud of our guys effort last night in our home opener," stated OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "We were able to build and then sustain a lead for the majority of the game and closed it out by getting timely stops on defense. It's a great feeling playing in front of a packed house, especially with lots of alumni in the stands. I'm really excited to see what the future holds for this group!"
The Vikings return to the court on Thursday, November 14, when they host the Roadrunners of RCSJ Gloucester at 7 P.M.
