NORTH EAST - Cecil College baseball suffered the same fate against Chesapeake on Sunday as they did on Thursday versus Garrett, losing a close contest in game one before dropping a lopsided second affair.
The Sehawks are now 8-9 on the year.
Game One - Chesapeake 4, Cecil 3
Chesapeake scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh frame to steal the opener from the Seahawks. The Skipjacks led 2-0 after three innings, but Cecil scored one run of the next three frames to take the lead. Hunter Sipel (0-1) pitched a clean sixth before ultimately taking the loss in seventh.
Justin Weaver, Franco Riposo, and Tyler Burger led at the dish with two hits apiece. Burger and Weaver both struck for a double.
Starting pitcher John Smith was handed a no decision after striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings of work.
Game Two - Chesapeake 13, Cecil 4
The Skipjacks took an early lead and never looked back, knocking out Cecil with ease in game two. The Seahawks struggled at the plate, striking out nine times while scrounging together only five hits and two walks.
Justin Weaver once again topped Cecil at the plate with another two-hit performance. Brendan Aiken finished with a double and one RBI.
Trent Wolf (1-2) took the loss from the bump.
