Poor Shooting Hinders Jayhawks in Loss at Monroe

ROCHESTER, NY - The old saying "there's a lid on the bucket" for a team that is missing shots rang true for Jamestown Community College on Saturday. JCC shot 34.3% from the field, on 1-21 shooting from three.

The struggles continued at the foul line, where Jamestown was just 12-21. All of this in a game they lost on the road to Monroe Community College by four at 65-51.

Kaleigha Plett led the way on offense, scoring 16 points with seven rebounds.

The sophomore was joined in double digits by freshman Alyson Canfield, who scored ten.

Aside from tough shooting, the 26 Jayhawk turnovers were all an issue, leading to 24 points for Monroe.

The loss knocks JCC down to 16-6 overall and 3-3 in league action.

Next up, Jamestown will play Monroe in the Region 3 playoffs, hosted by SUNY Niagara on Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 PM.
