Potomac State Rolls Past Frederick

Game 1 Recap: 

Potomac State came out swinging in Game 1 of their doubleheader against Frederick Community College, securing a 12-4 victory behind a powerful offensive performance and solid pitching from Lacie Miller. Potomac State tallied 15 hits in the game, including four home runs, while Frederick struggled to contain the onslaught.

The Catamounts took control early in the first inning, with Eva Ochoa scoring the first run on a single from Braylee Corbin. Potomac State quickly followed up with a two-RBI single from Shaleigh Darlington to give them a 3-1 lead. The offense kept rolling in the second inning, as Lindsay Mowry's two-run home run extended the lead to 5-1, and a double from Jamie Kelly added two more runs for a 7-1 advantage.

Frederick tried to mount a comeback with a solo homer from Kaitlin Murphy in the fourth inning and a two-run shot from Leo Cline in the fifth, but Potomac State answered back every time. The Catamounts added another run in the fourth inning, with Corbin driving in Ashton Spiker, and two more home runs in the fifth from Hailey Massie and Spiker—both of which contributed to a 12-4 scoreline.

Miller pitched a strong game, allowing just four earned runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings of work. The Potomac State defense also did its job, committing only one error while executing a solid all-around game.

Game 2 Recap: 

Potomac State dominated in Game 2 of their doubleheader against Frederick Community College, cruising to a 13-2 victory behind an explosive offensive performance and a stellar outing from pitcher Chloe Greise. Potomac State's offense was relentless, scoring in every inning but the fifth, while their defense and pitching held Frederick to just two runs on four hits.

The Catamounts got things going early in the first inning with a four-run outburst. Braylee Corbin's five-RBI performance highlighted Potomac State's offensive onslaught. In the second, the team tacked on three more runs, including an RBI from Skyla Compton, and in the third, they scored five runs with home runs from Corbin and Jamie Kelly. Potomac State's offense continued to put the game out of reach with a 13-2 lead after the third inning.

Frederick managed to score two runs in the third inning on a two-RBI single by Leo Cline, but that was all they could muster against Greise, who delivered a dominant performance. Greise allowed just three hits and struck out three batters.
