In the top of the fourth, Luna CC was able to score a run to get on the board but NMMI would answer in the bottom half.

Joek Rivera Colon followed it up with a solo shot over the left field fence to tally his fifth homer of the season. With two outs, Yahir Foncseca notched his sixth double and 14th RBI of the season to give the Broncos a commanding 9-1 advantage.

To open the bottom of the fifth inning, Martin blasted his second homer of the contest to tally his fourth homer of the year and second game with multiple homers on the season. The Rough Riders were able to score a run in the top of the sixth inning before scoring a trio of runs in the seventh before the Broncos secured the 11-7 win.

GAME 2

Continuing their momentum from the first game, NMMI opened game two with a two-run shot by Misael Maldonado Baez to give the home team a 3-0 lead. Luna responded with a pair of runs in the second inning as they were aided by a couple of walks to make it a 3-2 ball game.

In the bottom of the second inning, Rivera picked up another RBI before scoring a run with the help of an RBI single by Oh in the next at bat to put the Broncos back in the lead 6-2. The Broncos scored again in the third with a homer by Martin – his third of the afternoon.

Wonjae Cho opened the fourth with a double before scoring with the help of an RBI single by Maldonado Baez. Jose Rodriguez Mestre tallied his second triple of the year and helped score another run for the Broncos before reaching home on an eroded throw to third, giving NMMI a 10-2 lead.

Up by eight, the Broncos used the bottom of the fifth to score another pair of runs and secure the run-rule win 12-2.

Head Coach Chris Cook on the pair of wins, "I was happy overall with how we played today, especially how we pitched with a couple of guys who needed good starts for us," Cook said. "Offensively, early in game one with left some runners on base but we overcame that with some home runs. If you hit enough homers you don't have to run the bases all that good," Cook said. "We're going to need to clean up some stuff for this weekend but I'm happy with our bounce back. Midweek's game you usually see some lulls out there but I'm glad we came out and got the job done."

The Broncos return to action on Saturday, March 15 at the NMMI Ballpark as they host Odessa College for a four-game series, concluding with a doubleheader on Sunday. First pitch for both days is scheduled for noon.
