The game started relatively slow and sluggish as both teams tried to find a rhythm on the offensive end. With several whistles stopping play, the Trojans had to dig deep and stick to the basics of the game. Defensively, the Trojans were solid, containing drives and forcing tough shots. In the second quarter, the Trojans hit their stride on the offensive end, and the shots started falling, giving them a 31-21 halftime lead.
The second half of the play saw the Trojans execute more efficiently and find points to increase their lead. The Trojans competed and secured the much-needed conference road win.
"It's always a tough game over there, with little atmosphere in the building. Tech played a hard fought game and they're well coached, even I the midst of a tough season. Give our kids a ton of credit for competing and finding a way. We now get to rest and recharge for round two." added Coach Spence
This wraps up the first round of conference play for the Trojans, as the bye date is Saturday. Trojans then hit the road for a road swing to Independence and Coffeyville the following week.
