The Lakers men's basketball team traveled to Cuyahoga Community College tonight to face the Triceratops in OCCAC action. It was not the best effort by the Lakers tonight as they had difficulty matching the intensity of Cuyahoga and fell in a 90-79 decision. With the loss, Lakeland falls to 7-3 in conference play, but still has control over their playoff hopes. The teams battled back in forth in the first half, but the Triceratops took control of the boards and led 38-31 at the break. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they were unable to close the gap in the second half and so took the loss.
Lakeland had four players finish in double figures with Aaron Ward leading Lakeland with 19 points. Brandon Moore finished his night with 14 points while Devin Belle added 12 points for Lakeland. Kaleb Wanamaker recorded 11 points while Keenan Hughes picked up 6 points. Amarion Glenn and Eric Cook each chipped in 5 points in the defeat.
Next Up: On Saturday (2/8), the Lakers will host the Edison State Chargers in OCCAC action at Lakers Gym. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:00 am.
