Jayhawks find groove versus Montcalm
Jayhawks roll Montcalm 82-47
The Muskegon Lady Jayhawks hosted Montcalm Community College in a snow day game make up.
The Lady Jayhawks just traveled to Montcalm last week Wednesday so the team was ready to take on the team again with the quick turnaround. They took the same approach as Wednesday's game but amplified pressure as soon as the first quarter began. At half Jayhawks led 53-28. Unlike last match up, there was no drop in intensity. The Jayhawks kept up the momentum for all forty minutes of the game. To end the night, the Jayhawks took home their second win against Montcalm, 82-47.
Top scorers of the game were Anna Lundquist (#30) with 26 points, 8 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Tyvi Davis (#23) with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals. Jayna Edmonson (#2) with 14 points and 3 rebounds. Arrionna Williams (#20) with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals. And Cylie Burns (#3) with 6 points, 1 rebound, and 2 steals.
The Jayhawks play Wednesday, February 19th against Mid-Michigan @5:30. The Jayhawks will be honoring Black History Month after the game, before the men's game begins. The Black Veterans Association will be presenting the color guard, a MCC student will sing the Black national anthem, and MCC is honoring two community leaders- Muskegon High School Basketball coaches Keith Guy and Bernard Loudermill.
