The Kirtland Firebirds faced off against Bay College on Wednesday in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) conference play. Despite strong efforts from both teams, Bay College claimed victories in both the women's and men's games.
Women's Game
Adrianna Gilmore led the Firebirds with 8 points, providing consistent energy on both ends of the floor. Kirtland showed determination throughout the game but struggled to match Bay College's offensive pace. Bay's balanced scoring attack and defensive pressure proved too much as the Norse secured a 113-23 win. The Firebirds continue to focus on growth as they move through conference play.
Men's Game
The men's team put together a competitive effort, placing four players in double figures. Domonique Ramsey led the charge with an impressive 28-point performance, showcasing his scoring versatility. Despite Kirtland's offensive strides, Bay College's sharp shooting and second-half surge widened the gap. The Firebirds battled until the final whistle but ultimately fell 116-79.
Both Kirtland teams will look to build on these performances as they prepare for their next matchups.
