Mountain View Runs Away from Southwestern Adventist

DALLAS – Dallas College Mountain View women's basketball team beat Southwestern Adventist University, 73-51, Monday afternoon in the final game of the calendar year.

The Lions (6-8) outscored Southwestern Adventist, 30-10, in the third quarter to break the game open.

Jourdan Jones hit eight of 11 field goals, including four three-pointers, to pace four starters in double figures with 24 points. She also had six rebounds and three blocks. It was the eighth time she's scored 20 or more points this season.

Asia Zachary finished with 18 points, five rebounds and three steals. Leah Jones had 13 points and a career-high five blocks. Fiona Hasse had 10 points on 5 of 10 field goals and nine rebounds.

The Lions shot 44.1 percent from the field and 72.7 percent from the free throw line.
