JCCC downs Allen 72-60 to remain unbeaten in conference play

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 10-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team remains on top of the Kansas Jayhawk Conference Division II standings after posting a 72-60 road victory over Allen Community College Wednesday night in Iola, Kan. 

Four Cavaliers finished in double figures led by sophomore forward Brandon Mann with 17 points. He also grabbed a game-high11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Sophomore forward Traeger Rader posted his best effort of the season by providing 16 points off the bench on 6-of-11 shooting with three made baskets beyond the 3-point arc. He also had five boards. 

Freshman guard Gavin Harvey finished with 12 points and five assists and sophomore guard Steven Samuels contributed 11 points and eight rebounds.

Other key efforts were turned in by freshman forward Tavian Cruse (7 points, 8 rebounds) and freshman guard Joey Robinson (7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 points). 

Allen had three player post double figures led by Mike Smith with 15 followed by Malachi Schilreff and Tyler Piner each with 13.

Johnson County (16-3, 5-0) returns to the court Saturday, January 25 when the host Labette Community College (6-14, 0-4). Tip is scheduled for 4 p.m.
