The Jayhawks were defeated by the Mid Michigan Lakers 108-62 at Bartels-Rhode Gymnasium Wednesday night. The Lakers, who remain undefeated in conference play put on an offensive clinic in the first half, capitalizing off Jayhawks turnovers. The Lakers outscored the Jayhawks 64-29 in the first half and shot an impressive 67.6% from the field as a team. The 35-point lead was too much for the Jayhawks to overcome in the second half, and the Jayhawks were outscored again, this time 44-33 in the second half. Despite the loss, Jayhawks sophomore guard Will Chye poured in 24 points and secured eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Darius Williams added nine points and five assists. The loss moves the Jayhawks record to 14-11 overall and 8-4 in conference play. The Jayhawks hope to get back on the winning track Saturday, February 22nd against the Kirtland Firebirds at Kirtland. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 PM.
