Palatine and Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team picked up its first and second wins of the season on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Spartans improve to 2-5 in their overall season.

Nov. 19: ECC 89, Harper 54

Team leaders included Valeria Costilla in points (24), Costilla and Jordan McIntosh in rebounds (11), McIntosh in steals (six), Mia Calderon and Costilla in assists (five) and Calderon in three-pointers made (five).

Nov. 21: Milwaukee Tech 54, ECC 61

The Spartans trailed six points at half, but battled back in the third and fourth quarters to clinch the victory.

McIntosh led the team with 17 points, 19 rebounds and three assists. Costilla grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds and led the team in steals with three.

The Spartans host Bryant & Stratton on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
