WESSON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College men's soccer team finished its Friday match with Co-Lin in a 1-1 draw.
The Indians struck first after Elijah Belk (Oxford) scored on an assist from Niclas Schulze (Hoersholm, Denmark) with 36:40 left in the first half.
The Wolves found the equalizer on a penalty kick to tie the score at 1 with 20:20 left to play. Throughout the closing minutes, both teams squandered chances of a go-ahead goal, including back-to-back big defensive stands by the Indians with two minutes left.
Crosse Lindsay (Oxford) had a team-best two shots on goal while Will Barber (Kent, England), Leander Breidenbruecker (Bizau, Austria), Vincent Walters (Hernando) and Belk each added one.
Despite allowing one goal, William Blake (Fulton) recorded six saves in the match.
The Indians will be back at the ICC Soccer Complex on Oct. 1 for a 3 p.m. match with Holmes.
