Haverhill, MA (February 17, 2025) – The Northern Essex Community College women's basketball team defeated Bunker Hill on Monday afternoon by a 65-62 final score and in the process secured the final spot in the upcoming Region 21 Tournament. With the win, the Knights improve 9-11 overall and 7-6 in conference play.

Bunker Hill had a two-point advantage at the close of the games opening quarter, before the Knights outscored the Bulldogs 25-17 in the second quarter and took a 41-35 lead into the locker room. 

Mirelys Morales (Dracut) had a double-double performance of 24 points and 14 rebounds and was joined in double figures by Rhaelyn Gutieriez (Methuen) who scored a game high 25 points and Shaneley Henriquez (Haverhill) who added 12 points. 

Rebecca Heathman (Billerica) added 12 rebounds.

The Knights will close out the regular portion part of their season on Wednesday night when they play host to Great Bay Community College at 6:00pm.
