Newark, NJ - The Wolverines of Essex County College took on College County of Morris on Tuesday, stunning their Region 19 foes with a 20 point comeback victory 86-82. The Wolverines started out slow and fell behind by as many 20 points, before settling in and cutting the lead to 10 points at halftime. In the second half, the Wolverines played some excellent defense and shot red hot from the field scoring 52 points. Johnathan Quiles II led the Wolverines comeback with 19 points and 6/11 from the field, including 2/3 from three point range. Team captain Shane Cedres also chipped in 16 points and Jaidan Gilzene with 12 points/10 rebounds.
The Wolverines shot 50% from the field, while holding their opponents to 44.4% for the game and forcing 13 turnovers.
Essex (2-5) returns to action Tues December 5th at home vs Middlesex College, 7pm tipoff.
