No. 17 Lady Bobcats Drop Both Games against Defending D3 Champs

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats fell 13-5 in game one to the Patrick & Henry Community College Patriots despite out-hitting them 11 to nine.

• The Patriots jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after a solo home run to center field, a ground out, scoring one run, and a homer to center field, scoring three runs, 5-0.
• The Patriots added on seven more runs over the next two innings.
• In the third, Halvorson singled to bring in Madison Watkins and put the Bobcats on the board, now trailing 12-1.
• In the fifth, the Bobcats would add four more runs as Selby scored on a ground ball from Anaya Jones. Jones and Halvorson scored after Kennedy hit a ground ball, resulting in an error by the Patriots. The final run came as Truelove singled, bringing in Kennedy, but the Bobcats would take the loss, 13-5.
• Ariellah Layton started in the circle for the Bobcats, surrendering seven hits and eight runs over two innings, striking out none and walking one.

Notable Bobcats:

• The Bobcats piled up 11 hits in the game, Kiara Selby led the team with three hits, while Maleia Truelove and Tanisha Halvorson each collected two hits.
• Aurora Kennedy finished with two RBI, finishing 2-for-3 on the day. 

The Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats lost to the Patriots 8-3 in game two.

• Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats got on the board in the first inning after Tanisha Halvorson hit a solo home run to center field.
• A two-run homer to center field by the Patriots took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first.
• In the fifth inning, the Patriots homered to right field, scoring three runs, 5-1.
• In the sixth, Natalie Brown tripled, bringing home two runs, 5-3
• The final blow would come from the Patriots in the sixth inning from another home run, increasing their lead to 8-3.
• Emma Cardenas started the game for the Bobcats allowing six hits and five runs over five innings, striking out two and walking two. 

Notable Bobcats:

• Natalie Brown led the Bobcats with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
• Halvorson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Bobcats in hits.
