PRATT, Kan. - The Trojans women's basketball end first semester play with a critical Jayhawk conference road win at Pratt Community College 56-44. Colby got off to a good start, playing with energy and making early shots to build a lead they would never give up. As the ever-present defense took over, Pratt was limited, and any attempt at a comeback would be short-lived.
"It was a much-needed conference road win for us. We have had our struggles in conference road games so far, but we found our rhythm early playing against their zone. It was good to see another solid defensive effort, but we were whistled for too many fouls giving them more free throws than usual. It's hard to guard teams when they get to walk to the foul line, but we need to adjust better and play more focused when we build a lead. It was a great way to end our first semester of play and stay in the middle of the pack in the Jayhawk conference play. Christmas break is here and we all need a break before getting back after it on the 28th. This group is growing and big things are ahead of us. Go Trojans. " stated coach Spence.
The Trojans are 9-5 overall and 4-4 in Jayhawk conference play. Colby returns to action on January 4th, 2025 when we host Seward County.
