The contest opened with a tightly contested first quarter, with Miami Dade edging ahead 21-20. The Sharks relied on a combination of defensive pressure and efficient scoring to disrupt East Georgia's rhythm. In the third quarter, the Sharks extended their advantage, outpacing East Georgia 21-18 as they continued to exploit mismatches and capitalize on second-chance opportunities. Despite entering the final period with a comfortable nine-point lead, Miami Dade faced a fierce rally from the Bobcats, who outscored the Sharks 26-24 in the fourth quarter. However, timely free throws and critical defensive stops preserved Miami Dade's victory.
Leading the Sharks was Shameir Quimby, whose dominant all-around performance fueled Miami Dade's success. Quimby recorded a game-high 31 points, shooting 10-of-20 from the field and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. She also added seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals, proving instrumental in key moments. Jazmyne Bynum provided additional scoring firepower, contributing 18 points on five three-pointers.

For East Georgia, Kiara Turner delivered a standout performance, leading her team with 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. Turner also showcased her defensive acumen with five steals.
