Resio and Watson Lead Lakers to MCCAA State Championship Game

LANSING , Mich. – The No.11 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team bounced back from Tuesday's loss at Bay with an 85-75 MCCAA State Semifinal win over No. 16 Jackson on Friday night inside Gannon Gym at Lansing Community College.

With the win, the Lakers (25-4) advance to Saturday's state title game against host No. 15 Lansing.  

The duo of Chloe Watson and Rachel Resio could not be stopped on Friday night. Watson scored 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out six assists. Resio added 27 points of her own. Overall the duo combined to go 15-of-19 from three-point range.

Jirayatou Cisse posted 12 points. Alexus Dunn recorded 9 points. 

The Jets (23-6) were led by Michelle McGee with 21 points. 

Mid and Lansing will do battle at 1 p.m. Saturday inside the Gannon Gym for the MCCAA State Championship.
